Welcome to The Albrecht Free Clinic
The Albrecht Free Clinic provides free medical care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Washington County, Wisconsin. In 2012, we served over 1,100 patients with 3,150 patient visits. Approximately, 65% our patients are chronically ill while the other 35% visited us for acute care issues. Our healthcare providers, nurses, and volunteers donate their time and expertise in order to successfully improve the quality of life and health for our patients. Without their commitment and the gracious generosity from supporting community partners, Washington County residents may not have anywhere else to go to receive adequate healthcare.
Our Mission
Our Mission: To be the community provider of medical services to our underserved community members to save and sustain lives and reduce health costs to all community members.
Our Vision: To provide and facilitate access to medical services that support health and wellness in an economic manner for eligible individuals in Washington County who are underinsured, uninsured and otherwise unable to afford other services.
The Albrecht Free Clinic, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, aims to ensure that Washington County residents have access to basic medical care. Since 1996, we have served as the safety net for the uninsured and underinsured who are our neighbors and friends. We regularly treat many acute conditions such as sore throats, ear infections, abdominal pain, injuries, and bronchitis. For some patients treatment includes the need for labs and x-rays or the need for consultation with a specialist at one of the area clinics or hospitals.
We also care for a growing number of patients who have chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, lower back pain, and dental decay and infection. These chronic diseases, while serious in themselves, often evolve into very complicated situations that can become life threatening. This has enormous emotional, spiritual, and economic impact on patient, family, and community.
While treating both acute and chronic illnesses, we strive to educate our clients so that they learn how to best care for themselves with limited resources. Medications are provided at the lowest possible cost, often free with the use of samples and the pharmaceutical companies’ prescription assistance programs.

Our Goal
Our goal is to manage care effectively and efficiently, always conscious of the need to preserve dignity and confidentiality. We maintain a collaborative relationship with local health providers and facilities to identify those in need and will also refer to other agencies when appropriate. We work diligently to minimize inappropriate use of the emergency room, prevent deterioration of health, and secure an understanding of self-care.
