Patient Information
Is the Clinic Really Free?
YES, the clinic is free to those who qualify for services. No fee is charged. The Albrecht Free Clinic is generously funded by community groups, churches, foundations, and private funders in the local area. Volunteer healthcare providers and community members donate their time, skill, and expertise to help patients. We do not receive federal or state funding. Like all healthcare service providers, costs for services such as prescription medications, physician and specialist services, and dental/oral surgery services are costly. We do encourage all patients to offer a donation towards their care if eligible for our services. The Albrecht Free Clinic is sensitive to the financial difficulties for individuals and families within Washington County and is willing to assist, but asks for a partnership with the patient. Patients pay nothing for services, but others contribute thousands of dollars each year to keep the clinics open and operational.

Criteria For Free Care
The Albrecht Free Clinic is sensitive to the fact that many individuals or families within the Washington County community may have lost a job, their home, or have experienced a loss of income for various reasons. We are here to help Washington County residents gain access to medical care. Our guidelines are to help those eligible for our service and to assist others to find insurance through either BadgerCare or Health Care Insurance plans. If you are currently receiving care with us, the following eligibility guidelines must be continually met in order for you to continue with your health care services with us. Please make sure to review the following guidelines. Staff and volunteers would be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may contact us via phone or through the "Contact Us" page.
The Albrecht Free Clinic provides patients with healthcare so long as they meet our eligibility guidelines. Eligibility for services require that patients be a Washington County resident or have employment within the county, household income must be at 200% of Federal Poverty Limit (FPL) or less, and that they are not active members on BadgerCare/Medicaid or any other private or state-funded health insurance program. Any patient that is currently not a BadgerCare member and has a household income of 100% or less of FPL is required to complete an application for BadgerCare.
All new patients will complete a financial eligibility assessment, and all existing patients will typically review their financial eligibility every six months with a new application completed annually. Eligibility is determined on the verification documents brought in and a number of financial indicators.
